| Sher Jewelry
I strive to make a unique piece of jewelry that will become a work of wearable art. Working in both gold and silver, I find sterling to be the perfect metal for my larger pieces. Sterling readily accepts the patinas and can be textured to give dramatic contrast to a piece.
The use of sterling allows for affordable one of a kind jewelry designs. Gold is always available for the customer that wants to make another statement.
The jewelry is my 'art'. A realist in design, my challenge is creating designs that will not be seen else where. The work I do is defined by the movement of the animals I sculpt. Influences from the Renaissance and Art Nouveau jewelry eras are integrated into many of my designs. The unusual use of gemstones and patinas are another factor that sets my work apart from others. I devote hours to each design to bring out the spirit of each animal. This is the reason it sets my work apart from other jewelry designers whose lack of knowledge and familiarity with the subject they are attempting to portray becomes apparent.
I know I have succeeded when customers remark on how "realistic" my animals look. They, as animal owners, can appreciate the art of the animal coming alive and vibrant in a sterling or gold piece of jewelry. Customers are always telling me how much they love their Sher jewelry and how often people stop them to ask about the jewelry.
